PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer Team: If you have a heart for supporting and praying with those who are hurting, we invite you to join our Sunday morning Prayer Teams! To ensure we handle sensitive prayer requests with the utmost care, we ask that all new team members go through the process of becoming Fellowship Greenville Members. If you're interested in serving in this vital ministry, please reach out to Rebecca at rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for the following individuals and families in our church community:

  • Comfort for Those Who Have Lost Loved Ones
  • Please pray for Jen Kosa and her family following the passing of her mother in mid-May.
  • Please pray for Ruth Somero and her family as they grieve the loss of her sister, who passed away on May 15.
  • Please pray for Melissa Davis and her family following the passing of her father-in-law on May 14.

Health and Healing

  • Cathy Scott requests prayer following glaucoma surgery last week. As she also battles Parkinson’s disease, please pray for strength, healing, and a smooth recovery.
  • Kelly Wilson requests prayer for her friend, Kameron. While hiking with her young children and boyfriend, a tree fell and seriously injured both her boyfriend and daughter. Her elementary-aged daughter suffered severe spinal injuries, including multiple fractures to her back, and doctors are uncertain whether she will walk again. Please pray for healing, strength, and God's comfort for the entire family.
  • Leslie Brown asks for prayer for her sister, Pat, who lives in Texas. Pat was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent surgery to remove one of her lungs on June 4. Please pray for healing, recovery, and encouragement during this difficult time.
  • Pray for Dave Farmer.  He had a life-threatening medical emergency while in his doctor's office.  They were able to transfer him quickly to Greenville Memorial for emergency surgery where they took out a blood clot from his heart and lung.  Praise God for putting him at the right place at the right time to receive care quickly.  Please pray that he recovers and regains his strength quickly.
  • Clair Harmon asks for prayer for her husband, Michael, who is undergoing testing in preparation for back surgery scheduled for June 29. He is experiencing significant pain and longs for relief. Please pray for successful testing, wisdom for his medical team, and comfort as he awaits surgery.
  • Greg Jackson requests prayer for his mother, who has Stage 4 cancer. Please pray for relief from pain, renewed strength and energy, weight gain, and God's peace throughout her treatment.
  • Brandon Anderson requests prayer for his newborn son, Foster. Due to complications at birth, Foster spent a week in the NICU but was able to come home on Wednesday. Please pray for continued healing, strength, and healthy growth in the weeks ahead.
  • Jenny Trump requests prayer for Bonnie Dorman, who was recently admitted to the ICU in Atlanta with pneumonia. Please pray for healing and strength.

Spiritual and Personal Needs

  • Joanna, a recent visitor to Fellowship Greenville, requests prayer that she would find meaningful community and connection within the church.
  • Jenny Becerra requests prayer for peace and God's comfort in her circumstances.
  • Aaron Sinzheimer requests prayer as his family prepares to relocate. Please pray for wisdom, guidance, and confidence as God leads them into this new season.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: BENIN

"Benin is a small country bordering western Nigeria. It is the birthplace of voodoo, and Christianity is viewed by many in the north as a threat to their traditional beliefs. Every village and many homes in the north have designated locations for the ritualistic killing of animals (and sometimes humans) in an attempt to appease demonic spirits. Voodoo is an official religion, and Voodoo Day is a public holiday. Witchcraft is deeply ingrained in the local culture and is openly practiced. Christianity is considered a foreign religion that steals a community’s youth and prevents them from being properly initiated into the local tribes. Village chiefs serve as both political leaders and voodooist priests." Via: Voice of the Martyrs

Way to pray: Benin is the birthplace of voodooism. Pray that many will flee from voodoism and find freedom in Christ.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: FOTH

Nathan and Rene Foth have been on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) for more than 15 years and have served on college campuses in East Asia, Sweden, Argentina, and Dominican Republic. They have also served on short-term trips in Central Asia and South Asia. Most recently, the Foths served in Charlotte with Bridges International, an international student ministry on the campus of UNC-Charlotte. As of December 2019, the Foths are serving with international students in Sydney, Australia. They have three daughters: Anabelle, Elianna, and Lillian, whom they consider their secret weapons in welcoming and building relationships with international students from China, India and the Middle East.

Way to Pray: Pray for the Foths as they continue to build relationships with students in Australia. They are currently doing a Thursday discipleship group. Pray for the students in that group to continue to come to the understanding of who Jesus is and the plans He has for their lives. Please also pray for the visa process for them as they continue to work through that.
