"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1
"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14
The Prayer Team: If you have a heart for supporting and praying with those who are hurting, we invite you to join our Sunday morning Prayer Teams! To ensure we handle sensitive prayer requests with the utmost care, we ask that all new team members go through the process of becoming Fellowship Greenville Members. If you're interested in serving in this vital ministry, please reach out to Rebecca at rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.
Please pray for the following people who have lost loved ones recently:
- Jen Kosa's mother passed away in mid-May
- Ruth Somero's sister passed away on May 15th
- Melissa Davis' father-in-law passed away on May 14th
- Shelby Looney's husband, James Looney, walked into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 6th. Obituary: James Q Looney
- Nancy Burkard's father passed away on May 12th.
- Brandon Anderson requests prayer for his newborn son, Foster. Due to some complications, he was in the NICU for a week. They were able to bring him home on Wednesday. Please pray that he will gain strength in the coming weeks.
- Clair Harmon asks for prayer. She said that Michael's back surgery had to be cancelled. While doing Michael's anesthesia screen they found an issue with his heart. He will not be able to see a specialist until June 12th. Please pray for patience and God's hand over Michael as they wait.
- Joanna, a recent visitor to FG, asked for prayer that she would find community.
- Jenny Becerra requests prayer for peace.
- Aaron Sinzheimer requests prayer as his family plans to relocate. Please pray for wisdom as God prepares a new path for them.
- Jenny Trump requests prayer for Bonnie Dorman as she was recently in ICU in Atlanta for pneumonia. Pray for strength, healing, and for her to be able to get back home.
- Janet Kirkwood says, "I have been diagnosed with a very aggressive type of multiple myeloma. I would appreciate your prayers as the doctors decide on my treatments."
"Benin is a small country bordering western Nigeria. It is the birthplace of voodoo, and Christianity is viewed by many in the north as a threat to their traditional beliefs. Every village and many homes in the north have designated locations for the ritualistic killing of animals (and sometimes humans) in an attempt to appease demonic spirits. Voodoo is an official religion, and Voodoo Day is a public holiday. Witchcraft is deeply ingrained in the local culture and is openly practiced. Christianity is considered a foreign religion that steals a community’s youth and prevents them from being properly initiated into the local tribes. Village chiefs serve as both political leaders and voodooist priests." Via: Voice of the Martyrs
Way to pray: Benin is the birthplace of voodooism. Pray that many will flee from voodoism and find freedom in Christ.
Jeff Coppins is the Southeast Regional Director of Development with Back2Back Ministries (B2B) and currently lives in Greenville, South Carolina. Jeff's personal involvement with orphans and vulnerable children began in 2005 when he and his wife Ashley adopted their first child, Haley. Since then, they have adopted three more children: Aidyn, Tyler, and Henry. Jeff and Ashley also started Fellowship Greenville's orphan care ministry, Hope for Children. Through this ministry, they have mentored numerous couples and families through the adoption process.
Way to Pray: Jeff asks that we pray for the B2B team. Specifically for the strengthening and unification of the vision for the foster care program within the technical team and also for incoming national staff as they transition into new roles. Personally, he asks for prayer for his kids as they are in various stages of schooling.
One of our local missions partners, World Relief Upstate SC, is hosting a community soccer tournament and we’d love to have some FG people join a team!
The idea is that people from local churches will play alongside refugees in the Upstate area for a fun, community-centered morning together.
📅 Saturday, June 13
🕘 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
📍 Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church
The event will also include food trucks, bounce houses, and family-friendly activities for all ages!
You do not have to be a serious soccer player to participate — we’re mainly looking for people who want to have fun, build community, and support a great cause.
