GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: NIGER

"Many Christians have been displaced in Niger, including farmers from rural areas who need to reach their croplands to harvest their crops but struggle to do so because of ongoing threats. 'Christians in Niger face danger and challenges,' said a front-line worker. In western Niger, the violent JNIM Islamist group is very active. Its name is an acronym for the Arabic phrase “The Group Supporting Islam and Muslims” and is an offshoot of al-Qaida. JNIM fighters have been attacking Christians in western Niger and also in parts of Mali and Burkina Faso since the group formed in 2017. 'Christians are forced to leave their villages and all their belongings to save their lives from the death threats,' the front-line worker said. 'Most of the Christian population has been displaced.' Via: Voice of the Martyrs
Way to pray: Pray for Christians displaced by Islamist attacks, both Nigeriens and those who have fled to Niger as refugees. Pray for the encouragement and renewed strength of churches that have been displaced by extremist violence.
MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: BROWN

Kaylyn has loved sports, specifically softball, for as long as she can remember. Growing up she loved the experiences she was able to have with the sport. During her college years, she loved the opportunity to use softball as a platform to bring people together from all different backgrounds to enjoy this great sport. Through several trips to the Middle East, she had the opportunity to see softball redeemed in her own life, while also building relationships and breaking down language barriers in a way that provided opportunities to share the Gospel.
Kaylyn now gets to bridge her passions of softball, freedom in Christ, worship & leadership to continue impacting softball players, coaches & fans with the gospel. Kaylyn has loved watching the growth of impact through Athletes in Action Softball over the past 2 years! AIA Softball is now hosting several international events & spiritual retreats for athletes and coaches across many age groups every year.
Way to Pray: Kaylyn will be traveling with a team to Thailand later this summer. Please pray for the unity of this team and for the interactions that they will be having with the Thai people.
OPPORTUNITY: BASIC NEEDS DRIVE: LEAD COLLECTIVE
LEAD Collective exists to equip and elevate leaders in the way of Jesus, from historically under-resourced communities in Greenville, SC. They do this through three different programs--Eleos, an afterschool program geared towards youth in Nicholtown, GOAT, an outdoor adventure program geared toward youth in under-resourced areas, and Reach, a second-chance diversion program for youth in the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).
This Sunday, April 26, we have one last opportunity to bless these programs and these students by donating the following to LEAD Collective:
- Pre-packaged snacks
- Packaged juices like Capri Sun
- Peanut butter, jelly
These items can be dropped off in the bins located at both our HWY 14 and Adam's Mill campuses.
MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES
- Pray for the people of the Middle East right now who are experiencing the fear and uncertainty of war. Our partner Horizons International in Lebanon has sent out an update which you can see here.
- Please pray for Juliet (Kenya) as she navigates some difficulties with her siblings. Pray that she will trust God with each of their circumstances.
- Please pray for Pao (Colombia) as she handles the joys and stresses of planning an upcoming wedding. She and her family have also recently learned that her aunt was diagnosed with cancer. Please pray for her aunt's upcoming surgery and treatment plan.
- Please pray for Set Free Alliance as they continue to serve communities in Sierra Leone and India despite dealing with ongoing rising costs that make their work difficult.
- The Mungs (Myanmar) and those around them continue to face difficulties in both ministry and daily life as the government continues to enforce new and tighter restrictions. Please pray for them and their ministry as they navigate this.
- Iglesia Alumbra, a partner church in Barranquilla, Colombia, asks us to help them pray for a larger place to worship. Please also pray for partners in Domzale, Slovenia, Médard-en-Jalles, France and Potsdam, Germany as they are also feeling the limitations of space!
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: PIEDMONT WOMENS CENTER 5K
Piedmont Women's Center's annual Born to Run 5k is coming up! It will be held at Bob Jones University on May 16th starting at 8am. This is a great opportunity to get outside and support the work of PWC. Fellowship Greenville has 10 free spots that people in our congregation can access by signing up here and using the code: FG10.
If running in the 5k isn't your thing, they are in need of several volunteers! An event like this can't happen without their help! If you are interested in volunteering, please visit this page.
