PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer Team: If you have a heart for supporting and praying with those who are hurting, we invite you to join our Sunday morning Prayer Teams! To ensure we handle sensitive prayer requests with the utmost care, we ask that all new team members go through the process of becoming Fellowship Greenville Members. If you're interested in serving in this vital ministry, please reach out to Rebecca at rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.

  • Please pray for Sharon Gerber.  Her sister Mary Orozco passed away on Feb. 24th.
  • Please pray for Jun Zhang and his daughters Jenny and Jessica Hu.  Jun's wife Huaizhen Jane Zhang passed away on Feb. 17th.  The Celebration of Life was held at Fellowship Greenville on Feb. 25th.   Obituary: Huaizhen Jane Zhang
  • Also, please pray for Dave Whiting and his family.  Dave's father, Charles Whiting, passed away on Feb. 19th.  Obituary: Charles Whiting
  • Clair Harmon requests prayer for a family member who has just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He also recently lost his wife to cancer.
  • Please pray for Amy Ovalle.  She has been struggling since the death of her father this past summer.  She asks that the Holy Spirit would come heal her broken pieces.
  • Kimberly Thomas requests prayer as they meet with representatives of Visiting Angel to see how they can help her care for her mother.
  • Savannah Varner asks for prayer that her relationship with her sister will not be affected by her going away to college.  She loves her sister and wants to have a good relationship with her even though it is difficult at times.
  • Dan Wooten requests prayer for his wife who had surgery on Wednesday.  Please pray for her recovery and protection.
  • Olga Buniel says, "approaching another Spring without my husband, Robert is the hardest thing. Pray that I would continue to move forward with God’s grace."
  • There are several more prayer requests for personal and family health needs.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: LEBANON

Our partner, Horizons International recently sent us the following update "a few nights ago we had a wave of airstrikes in South Lebanon and southern Beirut (We were all woken up by the explosions at 2:45 am) - and because of that, the next morning we awoke to an emerging crisis of displaced people fleeing South Lebanon to the other areas of Lebanon. Many of them fled suddenly, without time to prepare, so they have little more than the clothes on their backs. We scrambled to coordinate with several of our partner churches in the most affected areas, as well as several other nonprofit organizations, to launch a coordinated effort. The number of displaced grew from 10,000 to over 100,000 in one day, and now on day 2 it is most likely even higher. From my house, we heard airstrikes in Beirut from 5:15-7:30 am, and there are reports of an incoming ground invasion from the south of us. We feel safe in our areas (with the exception of our Tyre team, who evacuated yesterday to Beirut), but need to care for the many who are seeking refuge among us." Since this update, there are now around one million internally displaced people across Lebanon. Via: Horizons International

Way to pray: Please pray for the country of Lebanon as well as the Horizons team as they care for those who are displaced.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: SHEPPARD

The Lord has given the Sheppards a special burden for the least-reached people groups of Liberia, especially the Manya. John Mark is working to translate and record the Bible in their language, along with teaching people to read and write in their mother tongue. Sara works with children, teens, and moms in their community, providing medical care, tutoring, daily meals, counseling, and discipleship.

Way to Pray:  John Mark and his team have recently completed the last revision of the New Testament translation. Praise God! Please pray that the Manya people who are hearing the word of God through dramatized audio programs would come to faith in Jesus. Pray for the Sheppards children and also the Liberian children who have become like family, that they would grow in their faith and knowledge of God’s Word.

MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES

  • Pray for the people of the Middle East right now who are experiencing the fear and uncertainty of war. Our partner Horizons International in Lebanon has sent out an update which you can see here
  • Please pray for Simi Hallford (Shaw Airforce Base--Cadence International) and her family as her mother recently passed away from cancer. Simi will be returning home to Romania to be with her siblings.
  • Pray for the Set Free Alliance team as they are in Sierra Leone running a medical outreach trip this week.
  • Pray for the Foths (Australia) and their ministry as a new university calendar starts! They are praying that God brings new student leaders their way!
  • Please pray that God gives our partner, World Relief, wisdom and discernment as they minister to a population of refugees and immigrants who are very fearful right now.
  • Please pray for Kaylyn Brown (Athletes in Action) as she and her team prepare for mission trips to Thailand this summer!
  • Iglesia Alumbra, a partner church in Barranquilla, Colombia, asks us to help them pray for a larger place to worship. Please also pray for partners in Domzale, Slovenia, Médard-en-Jalles, France and Potsdam, Germany as they are also feeling the limitations of space!
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: FAMILIES COUNT

This spring, Fellowship Greenville is hosting Lifeline's Families Count (faith-based) parenting classes. These are classes that have been approved by DSS and the court system for parents who have lost custody of their children. Often, taking parenting classes is a requirement of the court for parents to regain custody of their children.

We have two big needs that people can volunteer to serve in.

  • The first is volunteering to be a mentor for one of the individuals who will be taking the parenting class.
  • The second is volunteering to make a meal for 20-25 people the night of one of these classes (meals will need to be dropped off at Fellowship Greenville in Room 200 at 5:15 each evening).

You can register here

The dates of the class are as follows: March 24, March 31, April 7, April 14, April 21, April 28, and May 5.
