PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service.  At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service.  If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Rebecca Cooke at 864-385-3368 or rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.

Please pray for these other requests:

  • Kay Williams' dad, David Williams, passed away. Please pray for their family in this time. The funeral is Monday, November 17, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home (Southeast Chapel, Simpsonville). There will be a Visitation at noon, and a Service will follow at 1:00 pm.
  • Please pray for the family of Ron Phillips.  His father, Jack, pass away on October. 29th.
  • James Boyett says, "My wife and I are patiently waiting for our house in Florida to sell so we can join with you there.  Looking forward to that day!"
  • Ruth Garcia asks for prayer for Spiritual Warfare that she is experiencing.
  • Tiffany Bunney asks for prayer for her sister, Teresa, as she has a tumor on her brain stem and will need surgery soon. Please pray for no complications from the surgery.
  • Kathy Staffer asks for prayer for healing for her daughter, who is having some pain.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: CHINA

"Revival and rapid church growth have characterized China’s churches since the 1990s. About 130 million Chinese are Christians, most of whom worship within the house church movement. Millions of others worship with the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), which, as the only legal church, is controlled by the Communist government. Despite continuous pressure and oppression from the Communist government, house church leaders refuse to compromise the gospel by joining government-controlled churches. Because of decades of government oppression, many Chinese Christians do not have their own Bible or access to discipleship literature." Via: Voice of the Martyrs

Way to pray: Pray that Chinese pastors will be encouraged and stand firm in the face of government threats. Pray that children and young people, especially in remote villages, will have access to God's Word.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: MARTENS

In the summer of 2017, Franz and Kristie moved to Potsdam, Germany to establish a hosted Oasis for Global Workers. After 3 years of hosting Global Workers, COVID shut down all operations and the Martens started sensing the need for a change of ministry.

Noticing the lack of a church serving Internationals in the city of Potsdam, the Lord led them to plant a new church in 2022. The church, Fellowship Potsdam, is attended by international students, professionals, and Germans alike. The church has experienced rapid growth which has included many children and also local families.

The Martens still continue to offer Biblical Counseling and retreat opportunities to global workers when possible.

Way to Pray:  Franz and Kristie have been excited at the ways they can already see God moving in their church plant in Potsdam. Pray for this community to continue to grow stronger. Please also pray for them as they consider moving to a larger meeting space.

OPPORTUNITY: 2026 SHORT-TERM TRIPS

We’ve developed partnerships with many well-established ministries to join them in what they’re already doing to advance the gospel in other parts of the world. Each year we send a growing number of short-term mission teams to serve alongside these partners. These trips have focuses in orphan care, community development, evangelism, and more!

All of our trip applications are now open online! If you have any questions about them, please reach out to Jana Johnson at jjohnson@fellowshipgreenville.org.

MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES
  • Please pray for Kaylyn Brown (Athletes in Action) and her husband Tim as they support Tim's father through a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Pray for the Foths (Australia) as they have some team changes and transitions over the next few weeks. They also have a praise that their middle daughter, Elianna, will be baptised in a few weeks!
  • Pray for Jaz Mackey (Thailand) and her team as they recently lost a teammate to cancer. Please also pray for another of Jaz's friends in the ministry who has also been diagnosed with cancer.
  • Pray for the Ingrassias (e3) as Vicki has been dealing with some pretty extreme health issues. Please pray that both she and Sam experience God's peace in a really incredible way throughout this.
  • Please pray for Miriam Wheeler (ABWE) as she has been experiencing bad vertigo recently. She has an upcoming appointment scheduled to figure out next steps.
  • Iglesia Alumbra, a partner church in Barranquilla, Colombia, asks us to help them pray for a larger place to worship. Please also pray for partners in Domzale, Slovenia, Médard-en-Jalles, France and Potsdam, Germany as they are also feeling the limitations of space!
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: MIRACLE HILL FOOD DRIVE

On December 7 and 14, we will be holding a food collection drive for our partner, Miracle Hill Ministries. They have a huge need for food items as they serve 600+ people, three meals a day. The need increases significantly during the holidays and colder months as they open the doors to anyone at their cold-weather shelters.

They are specifically asking that people bring the following:

  • Coffee (ground--drip)
  • Mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup
  • Salad dressings
  • Cream-based canned soups
  • Cooking oil
  • Canned fruit
  • Shelf-stable breakfast meat
  • Grits
  • Sugar
  • Canned meals--beef stew, chili, soups, etc

Items can be dropped off at either the HWY 14 or Adam's Mill locations in the bins located around the campuses.
