PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: Myanmar

The widespread, long-running civil war directly affects Christians when they are targeted for attack by the warring factions. Villagers with animistic beliefs take vengeance on Christians, claiming they are angering the local spirits. Church gatherings and church buildings are allowed in many parts of the country, but tolerance varies from state to state. Active believers who share their faith face difficulties. Within tribal groups, families oppose conversion and new believers are subject to close government monitoring. Buddhist monks have actively opposed new Christian converts and evangelists. Pastors face arrest and are usually held for a few days at a time. (via: Voice of the Martyrs)

Way to Pray: Pray for churches in Myanmar as they navigate political instability and uncertainty. Pray for the complicated political situation in the country. Finally, pray specifically for our missionaries, the Mung family, as they minister to those around them.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: Macura

Goran and Metka serve as church-planters in Slovenia. Goran heard the Gospel for the first time clearly while in a Rehab Center in Croatia. The acceptance and embrace from our Heavenly Father was exactly what Goran needed to turn his life around. Upon Goran's return to Slovenia, he met Metka who served with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), and they were soon married. Goran has been transformed by the Gospel, and he and Metka are now planting gospel seeds in Domzale, a city of 12,000 people and no evangelical church. This past year, Goran completed an Acts 29 CiHP Apprenticeship. This was training specific to planting churches in hard places.

Goran currently partners with ECM International while Metka continues working with CEF. He presently works at a small restaurant in Domzale and shares the gospel every chance that he gets. He and Metka have linked arms with another couple from Ljubljana and are praying that God will open the doors in Domzale to successfully plant a church. He and Metka have two children, Timea and Josiah.

Way to Pray: Pray that God will open the ears and hearts of people around Goran and Metka so that they will be ready to receive the gospel message. Pray that God will grant Goran wisdom to know how to be a good father and husband. Pray for Goran and Metka as they continue to grow the church plant in Domzale and have new people join them.
