PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

  • Greg Cornwell was diagnosed with acute Leukemia this week. He will go into Memorial for a month long chemotherapy with the goal of remission.
  • Elizabeth Shimmel is really struggling with depression and anxiety.
  • Please be in prayer for Kristen Mixson and her husband as they wrestle with the difficult news of a brain tumor and what that means moving forward.
  • Please continue to pray for the recovery of Austin Somerville. He has a long road ahead after a serious diving accident. He will soon be moved to Shepherd in Atlanta for a long road of rehab.
  • Aaron and Sarah Dixon adopted a sweet baby boy that just turned 1. The biological mother is pregnant again and asking them to adopt. Please be in prayer as they try and discern God's will, provision and direction.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: Covid-19

As we continue to navigate Covid-19 as a community, let's remember to pray for all those affected worldwide. Here are a few different groups we can be praying for this week in particular!

  • Continue to pray that the doctors and nurses caring for Covid-19 patients will have all of the necessary equipment and protection to care for them to the best of their ability.
  • Pray for our partners who are serving vulnerable people in their communities right now, while also worrying about monthly funding potentially dropping.
  • Pray for all those researching the virus to continue to understand more and more about it so that we can have helpful answers soon.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: Emery

Patrick and April Emery serve with Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO), an organization that strives to "transform college students to transform the world." Patrick has been a part of CCO's Experiential Designs team for 10 years. As part of this team, he specializes in facilitating team building as well as leading wilderness trips which help students learn more about God, themselves, and others. Patrick and April reside in Poland, Ohio, with their three children: Grace, Abigail, and Gabe. April, a stay-at-home mom, homeschools all three children and still finds time to make and sell a variety of natural home remedies.

Way to Pray: To see a generation of college students transformed by the power of Jesus Christ and His Gospel, in partnership with the local church, reaching the world for the glory of God. For unity among the staff team that Patrick leads.

MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES

Problems in John Mark's family that are weighing heavily. Also, the battery in their solar system is messed up. Pray that they continue working so that the fridge where all of their food is stored will continue working while they are in the capital and away from their home.
  • Pray for Carolyn Rice as she and her team develop oral-storytelling for post-abortive women. Pray specifically for discernment and creativity in developing this.
  • Pray for Ben Ebner as he continues to mentor interns who had plans to serve abroad this summer but will not be able to now.
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: World Relief

World Relief is an agency in the upstate that cares for refugees. They have continued to care well for the families in their program even during the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, they need continuing support to be able to do so. If you are interested in helping out, visit their website and consider giving a financial gift.
