Both George and Debbie Collins were born in Michigan. Debbie was raised as a missionary kid in the country of Bangladesh before meeting George at Cornerstone University. The Collins family first served for 10 years as missionaries in Bangladesh. Since the early 1990s, they have been serving with Live Global (formerly Global Access Partnerships or GAP), a ministry of ABWE, primarily in restricted-access nations. George consults with many North American churches regarding ways to effectively partner with our brothers and sisters in church planting and leadership training. The couple has three grown sons (Philip, David, and Benjamin). Benjamin serves as a missionary in Bangkok, Thailand.
Way to Pray: Dr. Mung in Myanmar is working on the Zomi Bible translation. His team has translated, published, and distributed the New Testament with the target to finish the whole Bible in 2020. Please pray for some of our colleagues who have had ongoing visa issues in three of the countries Live Global serves in.
Please pray for our local partner Miracle Hill as they have been asked to provide space for and care for people who have tested positive for Covid-19. Pray for the volunteers that have stepped into this environment that they will stay healthy and positive and that they will be a light to all those they serve.
Harvest Hope is very busy in the emergency food pantry, and expects to continue to be as we all live out this health crisis. Over the last few weeks, they have served over 27,000 individuals right here in Greenville County. They are looking for volunteers to continue to help with their ‘drive-thru’ limited pantry service through the rest of the month. More information and access to sign up can be found on their website.
If you are healthy and have the availability to serve, this will be a great opportunity to love others by providing food for those who may not be able to get to the grocery store and stock up.
