Part-Time Facilities Assistant (Sundays)

The ideal candidate loves Jesus, desires to serve him, and possesses handyman skills.

Main Objective: We are looking for an individual who loves Jesus and wants to serve him with his/her gifts and talents. The ideal candidate is someone that has experience with handyman type skills and has a servant’s heart.

Job Description:
  • Opening/closing procedures for the facilities
  • Monitoring automated HVAC and door systems
  • Acting as the on-duty facilities person for scheduled ministry events, primarily Sunday services
  • Occasional setting up rooms, cleaning spills, and bathroom issues.
  • Ensuring a safe environment while activities are happening on site.
  • Familiarity of fire alarm systems and emergency procedures
  • Other assigned tasks include, but are not limited to, weddings, funerals, and other scheduled ministry events.
  • Assisting in facilities coverage during vacation time for other facilities staff members.
  • Occasional weekend ministry events 

Schedule

  • Sunday mornings 6:15-1:45 pm, occasionally later for Sunday events.
  • Usually two Sundays per month but occasionally three to fill in for vacations, special events, illness, etc. We would consider every Sunday schedule if interested.

             Approximately 16 hours per month with an opportunity for additional hours with special events.

Critical Skills: Some knowledge and experience in custodian standards and use of maintenance equipment. A basic understanding of building utilities - plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc. Also must have basic computer skills to communicate via email and ability to learn to run automated HVAC and door systems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, walk, lift, and push a cart. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and frequently up to 50 pounds.
