|12| The Ultimate Insult (Luke 20:9-18)

Charlie Boyd - 8/30/2015

We continue in our summer series entitled, "Kingdom Parables: Keep Looking Until You See". Jesus told parables to make people think about how life in God’s kingdom under God’s reign was different than how we normally go about life. Parables have the capacity to challenge and change the way we usually think about God, life, and faith, and the only way to understand a parable is to keep looking until you see and to keep listening until you hear. This message is on the Parable of the Wicked Tenants, where a vineyard owner left his fields to tenants, who began to act like owners. The Bible says that people who act like owners rather than tenants are God’s enemies, and that they will be judged as God’s enemies if they reject God’s message of grace and salvation offered to them through the death of Jesus on the cross.
