EPIC Retreat

Life today can feel confusing, loud, and full of mixed messages. Everyone is searching for something solid, something real to build their life on. At EPIC: The Search, we are stepping into the story of Nicodemus in the Gospel of John, a religious leader who quietly came to Jesus with big questions and an honest desire to know what was true. Just like Jesus treated Nicodemus’ questions, we believe questions are not a problem; they are an invitation.

Over Labor Day weekend, middle and high school students from all over our church* will come together to explore who Jesus is, why He can be trusted, and how His truth speaks into real life right now. Through powerful teaching, passionate worship, intentional small groups, and insanely fun games and experiences, students will have space to wrestle with doubts, weigh the evidence, and encounter the One who calls Himself “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

Our student ministry team will be unfolding this theme with our students throughout the weekend. This will be a time for students to get away and unplug from everyday distractions (including phones and other screens**), really focus on growing in their relationship with God, and have an unforgettably amazing time at camp. This energetic retreat for middle schoolers and high schoolers is not only full of learning about God and worshiping Him, but also building and strengthening the faith of students through friendships and discipleship. This weekend is not only an incredible opportunity for physical and spiritual rest, loads of fun, but also a unique chance to jumpstart our students’ faith as they enter into the new school year. *As the Lord has blessed our church and student ministry over the years, we have reached a point of refocusing the goal of EPIC to be around more intentional discipleship of students who regularly attend middle school services on Sunday mornings or high school services on Sunday nights and/or students who attend one of our campuses with their immediate family. Anyone who does not attend one or more of these will be added to a waitlist and notified by August 21 on whether or not a spot is available.

**As culture continues to shift and we become more and more focused on our screens, our student team has made the decision to ask that all phones and any other device that has access to the internet be left at home for this retreat. Our intent is to remove distractions and bring another layer of safety in making this move. All adult leaders on the trip will have their devices in case of emergency and the cell phone number of cabin leaders will be provided to every parent and guardian with children in those cabins.
