Basic Christianity: Colossians and Philemon
Paul’s letter to the Colossians declares that Christianity is rooted in the person and work of Christ while his accompanying letter to Philemon, a member of the Colossian church, presents a beautiful illustration of Christian grace and reconciliation. Paul says the gospel proclaims our freedom in Christ from naturalistic, man-made rules and rituals that cannot deliver us from sin’s corruption or qualify us to stand in God’s presence. Instead, Christ must be all in all to know and experience the life God offers us.
Join us this Fall as we study Colossians and Philemon in an 8-week series on Wednesday evenings beginning September 13th. This group is open to both men and women of all ages and backgrounds. Each week we will examine the literary, cultural, and theological elements of our passage through teaching and guided discussions led by Clayton Allen to grow together into a more fruitful life in Christ.
