A Near Presence

by Madison Prior

I came to know Christ as a young child and grew up in a Christian family. I have attended church for as long as I can remember—first a Presbyterian church where I was christened as a young child, and then we began going to Fellowship Greenville in 2020.

I have always been very active and involved in the church and campus ministries in college. These groups taught me that community is an important part of your faith journey. Community not only holds you accountable, but it is also a way to live out faith together through shared struggles and joys, and reflecting God's design for us to live in relationship with others.

Over the years I have gone through some personal struggles and hardships; however I have learned to rely on Christ through it all. My relationship with God has gone far beyond simply attending church and performing Christian activities. It has become deeply personal. He has always been there for me, to talk to, to listen to, to guide me.

Though my seasons change and not everyone is with me all the time, I know that God will be with me every step of the way, and that gives me great comfort.

I believe that the Holy Spirit lives inside me and that I am born again as a new creation. I want to be baptized because it is important to profess and show my love for God in front of the church.
