Before I followed Jesus, I only thought about myself, my friends, and what I wanted. I lived for myself. I didn’t think about God at all. Then, one night before bed, mom was reading a story, and a character asked to be a child of God. I realized I hadn’t ever asked that before. We prayed, and I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins, and asked to be His child. I wanted to be a child of God because I knew who He was. Mom explained so that I knew I couldn’t save myself and that I needed Jesus because of what He did. The Bible has been read to me throughout my life, and I have always gone to church.

Now, I’m kinder, more truthful, and I try to do nice things and stand up for my friends. I know I’ll go to Heaven, and I know He is with me always, and that means I can trust Him to keep me safe. He uses everything for good. Meaningful Bible passages are His birth, the Easter story, and creation.

I want to be baptized because Jesus was, and I want others to know I trust in Him and that I am a child of God.
