"2020 will be a year that no one will forget. Pandemic, earthquakes, murder hornets, racial unrest, riots, and a conspiracy theory to go along with each of them. Annnd... we're only halfway through. I don't know about you, but when everything seems out of control, I feel the weight and the burden to fix it all myself, as if I even had the power to do so. But I'm reminded over and over again of God's sovereignty. He is the author and decider of everything under creation. He wrote the story of our life, and 2020 is just a small portion of that story. I don't have the ability to fix or even fully understand what is going on in the world today. But God does. Isaiah 46:10 says 'Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose.' He knows the end. He has a purpose for everything. Romans 8:28 says. 'And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.' I can find peace and rest in the fact that God is sovereign, he has already planned out 2020. The weight of the world is not on my shoulders. It is my responsibility to listen to the Holy Spirit to know when to speak and when to be quiet, when to act and when to rest. So in 2020, and any time life feels out of control, instead of asking myself 'How can I fix this?' I will ask 'What are you trying to teach me, Lord?'" - Danielle S.
