Accepted Like Family - Carter's Story

by Carter Smith

"I grew up in a home where we went to church regularly, but I never really believed in God. So from the ages of 13 to 16, I left the church altogether. Then I met Nathan and Kyle Marks, who pushed me to come with them to Fellowship Greenville. Nathan also invited me to join his small group, and they accepted me there like I was family. For most of the summer, I attended small group almost every Sunday. I want to take a moment to thank some people for accepting me so graciously: KJ and Drew Reynolds, Ian Thompson, Joey Noyes, Jonathan Lopez, Stephen Whitacre, and Aaron Crandall. You guys are a huge part of my faith journey, and I’m really grateful God put you in my life.

Around the end of summer, I decided to go on the Epic youth retreat. Matt Densky preached on the Spirit of God and his work in everything, and I was so deeply moved by what he said that I decided to give my life to Christ that night.

I want to get baptized today to declare publicly that I love God with all my heart and want to serve Him for the rest of my life." - Carter S.
