Communications/Media
Intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following tasks / projects:
- Write three articles on various topics as assigned by the Communications Director
- Topics include: Equipping, Serving, Care, Students, Community Groups
- Examples: Resource Recommendations for Community Groups, Direct applications from sermons on Sundays, How to take your next steps through serving
- Share to FG social media weekly by utilizing church photos to invite folks to one of our Sunday services
- Assist with video setup and production with Communications Video Producer (Worship Wednesday, Stories of Hope, Missions)
- Meet once a week to discuss principles of graphic design and typography with Communications Graphic Designer
- Collaborate with the Communications Graphic Designer on the next year’s edition of FG News Brochure
- Train with the Worship Technology Director and operate a camera on Sunday mornings for Live Stream *pick two Sundays*
- Photography training on Sundays with the Communications Video Producer *pick two Sundays*
- Watch two movies (selected by supervisor) with gospel-themed narratives
- Write a one-page summary (font-size: 11, single-spaced) for each movie on the gospel takeaways within each story that will be collected at summer’s end
What you can expect to learn and experience:
- Practices and theories of communications as related to marketing
- Effectiveness of storytelling vs event promotions
- Relationship-building with an online community
- Understanding the communications needs of a large church
- Working with staff across all areas of ministry
- The process of video creation in a ministry setting from start to finish
