PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service.  At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service.  If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Liana Grace at 864-385-3368 or lgrace@fellowshipgreenville.org.

Please pray for these other requests:

  • Please pray for the family of Rich Wilburn, who recently passed away. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, Sept. 15, in Auditorium 1. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:30 am.
  • Families Count (9/16-10/28) - Please pray for our parents going through this 7-week parenting class to come to know Jesus if they don't already. Pray that this class will make an impact on their parenting and their families.
  • Andrew Weaver requests prayer for his parents as his dad continues to fight cancer.
  • Isaac Messer asks for prayer for his son-in-law who is in the National Guard and for his wife & daughter.
  • Jason Clark would like prayer for a health concern.
  • Bill Bemesderfer requests prayer for his son, who was born premature. He is home from the NICU, but there are still concerns, so please pray for peace and strength.
  • Jenna Weaver asks for prayer for her father-in-law for a new diagnosis.
  • James Bishop would like prayer for his family since they are under a lot of stress right now.
  • Ashly Tomlinson asks for prayer for her father, who is navigating a hard season, and for multiple family members with recent or upcoming surgeries. Please also pray for her neighbor, whose wife passed away last week.
  • Sue Lewis requests prayer for an extended family member who is having some serious health issues.
  • Melody Lowe asks for prayer. She believes God is leading her to make a life change and potentially move. Please pray for courage to follow God's leading.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: NEPAL

"The government of Nepal is taking an increasingly strong stand against religious conversion. Despite the 2015 constitution that guaranteed religious freedom, Parliament criminalized converting someone to another religion. Christian communities are small, but they boldly witness for Christ despite harassment and risk.

There is a small, visible Christian community in Nepal, but believers experience opposition from extremists among the Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist and Marxist groups. Christians face false accusations, harassment and beatings from family and communities. They also face opposition from local Hindu nationalists who envision Nepal becoming a “pure” Hindu nation. Christians are considered to be untouchables and are ostracized by society. They are seen as people who “destroy culture” and promote foreign religions." Via: Voice of the Martyrs

Way to pray: Pray that Christians whose churches have been attacked will reflect God's love to their persecutors. Please also pray for the country as there have been ongoing protests lately. To read more about that, you can visit this page

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: GONZALEZ

A native Colombian, Bernardo Gonzalez pastored a Colombian church and worked with several missionary organizations for over 13 years while working a secular job for 10 of those years to support his family. In 2011, Bernardo stepped into the role of Colombia National Director with e3 Partners. In this role, Bernardo now devotes all of his energy to reaching Colombians for Christ by coordinating the efforts of different Christian associations and churches to accomplish this goal. His vision is to help grow a passion for church planting in the local church. He and his wife, Mildred, have been married almost 15 years and have two daughters, Emily and Mariana.

Way to Pray: Bernardo's team has been growing the online tools they use to train pastors. Please pray that this continues to be an encouragement to the pastors in the network. Please pray for Bernardo and Mildred as they have many different things on their plate and deal with stress. Please also pray for them as they prepare for a team to be with them in October.

OPPORTUNITY: FAMILIES COUNT

Fellowship Greenville and Miracle Hill are partnering to offer Lifeline's Families Count (faith-based) parenting classes. These are classes that have been approved by DSS and the court system for parents who have lost custody of their children. Often, taking parenting classes is a requirement of the court for parents to regain custody of their children.

We are still in need of a couple more mentors! If you are interested, we would love to have you.

The dates of the class are as follows: September 16, September 23, September 30, October 7, October 14, October 21 and October 28. You can register to become a mentor here
