PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service.  At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service.  If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Liana Grace at 864-385-3368 or lgrace@fellowshipgreenville.org.

Please pray for these other requests:

  • Tracy Koehler requests prayer for her health and for her kids returning to school/college.
  • Ruth Somero asks for prayer for her great-grandson who needs heart surgery and for her sister who has cancer.
  • Lucy Kobliska asks for prayer for her children as they go back to school.
  • Trena Jones asks for prayer for her relationship with God.
  • Steve Methvin requests prayer for a meeting that he is having with a friend who is looking to Jesus for help with his struggles. Pray for Steve that he has grace as he encourages his friend.
  • Sara Hinton requests prayer for her chronic neurological pain that is currently undiagnosed.  She is in great pain and she is unable to drive.
  • Melody Lowe asks for prayer. She believes God is leading her to make a life change and potentially move.  She says she is struggling to find the courage to do it, but she wants to follow God's leading.
  • Clair Harmon requests prayer for several friends that are facing serious health issues.
  • Dave Abela asks for prayer as he heals from surgery and is now facing some complications.  He also requests prayer for his sister as her husband reaches end of life in hospice; he is becoming unresponsive at times. Please pray for her peace and strength.
  • Janet Kirkwood requests prayer. She has been diagnosed with cancer. Please pray for relief for her and peace during this time, and pray for wisdom for the doctors that are treating her.
  • Jeannie Ginsberg requests prayer for God's direction in her life.
  • Renee Orr desires prayer as she seeks where God wants her to be.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: ALGERIA

"Before the founding of Islam in the seventh century and the subsequent invasion by Arab Muslims, Algeria was inhabited by the Berber people. Today, they live mainly in Algeria’s mountainous Kabylie area in the north, while Arabs inhabit the rest of the country. The Christian faith has a long history in North Africa, especially among ethnic Berbers. The early church father Augustine of Hippo is thought to have been a Berber from Algeria. After centuries of oppressive Muslim occupation, public Christian worship and witness have largely disappeared, but many Berbers are now rediscovering their Christian heritage. Churches have seen rapid growth, and Algeria has experienced one of the world’s largest movements of Muslims coming to faith in Christ. Algerian Christians are reaching out boldly to their Muslim countrymen, causing increased persecution in an uncertain political climate." Via: Voice of the Martyrs

Way to pray: Pray that Christians whose churches have been closed by authorities will find ways to meet. Pray that Christians whose churches have been closed by authorities will reach out to their neighbors despite the risks.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: GFELLER

In the summer of 2017, Chad and Cherry Gfeller transitioned to Berlin, Germany to begin work with refugees. Their vision for ministry is to shine the light of the gospel to the men, women, and children of Germany's great city of refuge and their ministry focuses on using the avenue of sports to reach Syrian refugees in the city.

Working with immigrants is at the heart of their assignment in Berlin and over the past seven years they have seen God take them down an unexpected path. As they established outreach alongside their local church, they became more involved with church leadership. Chad joined the elder team at CrossWay Church in 2020 overseeing community and outreach. The year 2024 brought an even greater role as Chad took on the role of directional pastor and oversees growth and expansion of the church as they seek to plant new churches in the coming season. The Gfellers are also part of the team supporting fellow FG missionaries, Franz and Kristie Martens, as they plant a church in nearby Potsdam. The Gfellers have two daughters, Quinn and Gracie. You can learn more about the Gfellers ministry by visiting their website.

Way to Pray: Please pray for Brad and Joy as they have both encountered different health setbacks over the past few months. They are trusting the Lord in all of this as they balance ministry and rest.

OPPORTUNITY: FAMILIES COUNT

Fellowship Greenville and Miracle Hill are partnering to offer Lifeline's Families Count (faith-based) parenting classes. These are classes that have been approved by DSS and the court system for parents who have lost custody of their children. Often, taking parenting classes is a requirement of the court for parents to regain custody of their children.

We have two big needs that people can volunteer to serve in. You can click the "Register" button to sign up for one of these opportunities.

  • The first is volunteering to be a mentor for one of the individuals who will be taking the parenting class.
  • The second is volunteering to make a meal for 18 people the night of one of these classes (meals will need to be dropped off at the Miracle Hill Family Ministry Center at 5:15 each evening).

The dates of the class are as follows: September 16, September 23, September 30, October 7, October 14, October 21 and October 28. You can register here
