PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service.  At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service.  If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Rebecca Cooke at 864-385-3368 or rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.

Please pray for these other requests:

  • Please pray for Judy Hanna. She and her husband, Wayne, were in Florida few weeks ago when they discovered that she has brain cancer. After an extended stay in the hospital in FL she is now at home. Please pray for wisdom as the doctors make a treatment plan for her.
  • Please pray for Georgianna Shore who was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. Pray for the doctors' wisdom in treating her and for healing.
  • Elizabeth Vallerand requests prayer as she recovers from having a tumor removed from her head on last week. The surgery went well, but the tumor still needs to be analyzed.
  • Melody Bechard asks for prayer for her sister, who is going through chemo. Please pray that God would draw her to himself and for healing.
  • Amy Ovalle requests prayer for her brother, Matt, who had a stroke last week. Please pray that the blood clot in his brain would be healed and not cause any further damage, that his right side would heal, and that this would bring him and his family to Christ.
  • David Abela was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. It is localized and they are planning on surgery. Please pray for comfort, strength, and trust in the Lord for David and for wisdom for his doctors.
  • Bill Osburn asks for prayer that he would live a transformed life.
  • Lucy Kobliska would like prayer for her mom to know the Lord, and that her dad would read the Bible he now has.
  • Dustin Seppala requests prayer for a co-worker who has had a drug relapse.
  • Barbara Grundhauser requests prayer. She was in a car accident a couple of weeks ago. She is experiencing neck and back pain which makes it difficult for her to swallow.
  • Brandi Brogden would like prayer for her family, especially her brother who has recently had spine surgery and is not doing well.
  • Dan Wooster requests prayer to keep a biblically focused balance in his life (personal, family, work, etc).
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: YEMEN

"For many years, the people of Yemen have suffered from civil wars and violence from Islamic extremists, including al-Qaida. Although the situation has further deteriorated since the start of the most recent civil war, the gospel has flourished and many Yemeni Muslims have come to know Christ. Yemeni Christians have become bolder in their outreach efforts, though it is still extremely dangerous to even be identified as a Christian. They must reach out in creative ways that are both bold and wise. Small but steady numbers of Yemenis are continually being added to the body of Christ, and more are gaining interest as the influence of Christian media grows. Most regions of the country include at least one follower of Christ." Via: Voice of he Martyrs

Way to pray: Pray for Yemeni Christians who face food shortages and economic hardships amid the region's political unrest. Pray that media outreach ministries will make God's Word increasingly accessible in Yemen.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: NATTIER

The Nattier family joined ABWE in 2013 with the goal to use their medical training as a tool to open doors for sharing the gospel with unreached people groups. At that time, the Hospital of Hope was being built in northern Togo after an invitation from the local religious leaders. The hospital opened its doors in 2015, and since that time more than 120,000 patients have received compassionate medical care and spiritual care. They have seen that medical care often breaks down barriers that exist when they arrive. Their openness to hear and discuss Biblical truth has increased greatly since the hospital opened.

B is a general surgeon. The surgical team often sees very advanced diseases that may require months of care. During that time, the patients have many contacts with the team which includes hospital chaplains from the local people groups. They are able to present truth through media, audio and visual as well as life on life.

N is a family nurse practitioner working in the area of women’s health. She has the opportunity to work with women with a variety of health issues, but especially with reproductive health and during pregnancy. Women here are often valued for their ability to have children, so this area opens many doors to discuss Biblical truths.

The Nattier family began attending Fellowship Greenville during their stateside ministry in 2020. Their stateside home since that time has become Greenville.

Way to Pray: Please pray for the entire family as they minister in this area with limited resources, challenging climate and increasing security risks. Pray for their 6 children, 2 of which will soon be returning for college. Pray for the PAACS residents, many of whom are coming from countries other than Togo, for growth during their training and preparation for future ministry in Togo and beyond. Please pray for the Nattiers as they come back to the states for a period of time to participate in a hospital fellowship and also send their oldest daughter off to college.

MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES
  • Please pray for Andrew Haas (TWR--NC) whose parents have had some recent health complications and procedures that have endangered their ability to care well for each other. Please pray for Andrew and Holly as they determine the best ways to make their living situation more sustainable.
  • Please continue to pray for Scott McCracken and his family as they grieve the death of Vicki following complications after a recent heart surgery at the beginning of the year. Please also pray for them as they grieve the loss of Scott's mom last week. You can read his latest update here.
  • Please pray for the country of Syria right now as minority groups are facing the fear of genocide and extinction! May God’s mercy, justice, and peace prevail in Syria. Please also pray for our partner, Ananias House, as they seek to serve Syrians.
  • Iglesia Alumbra, a partner church in Barranquilla, Colombia, asks us to help them pray for a larger place to worship. Please also pray for partners in Domzale, Slovenia and Potsdam, Germany as they are also feeling the limitations of space! Please also join in praying for these partner churches as they prepare for Easter services this month!
