PRAYER REQUESTS
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1
"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14
The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service. At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service. If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Rebecca Cooke at 864-385-3368 or rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.

GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: MYANMAR & THAILAND

This past weekend, Myanmar was hit with a magnitude 8 earthquake, with the impact also being felt in Thailand. In Myanmar alone, it's been reported that 2,719 people have now been found dead, with 4,521 others injured and 441 missing. The death toll is expected to rise. The earthquake impacted a wide section of the country and has left many areas without access to power, roads have been destroyed, and more, making it difficult to assess the extent of the damage. Buildings also continue to collapse in Myanmar days after the earthquake, which has made rescue operations even more dangerous. Check out this article for a more detailed accounting of the earthquake.
Way to pray: Our partners in Myanmar and Thailand are safe, but please pray for them as they assess the damage and care for those who are hurting right now! Please pray for the crews who are looking for missing persons, especially as it's dangerous with buildings continuing to collapse. Finally, please pray that God will make His presence known to these people during this sad time.
MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: MUNG

The Mung Family partners with Fellowship Greenville through LIVE GLOBAL (a ministry of ABWE). With a heart to train church leaders to serve as evangelists and church planters to reach Myanmar, Dr. Do Suan Mung founded Faith Baptist Bible College (FBBC) in his hometown of Tedim in 1986. In 1993, a seminary program was added. Over the years, students of Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary have come from 8 states of Myanmar representing some 22 ethnic races. In 2003, Dr. Mung established a seminary in Yangon offering a Master of Divinity program. Many graduates (now over 1500) of FBBC and the two seminaries have become competent, influential leaders all over Myanmar.
Since Dr. Mung's death in July of 2021, David Mung, Dr. Mung's son, has been leading the ministry of the college and the seminary. In 2013, upon receiving a Pastoral Ministry degree, David first became a part of the leadership team when he took over as president of FBBC in Tedim. Since then, he has earned a Master of Religious Education degree while serving alongside his father. David is married with two children. He is thankful to have had the opportunity to work with his father and see his passion for God's glory. In David's words, "It's my earnest prayer to follow in my dad's footsteps and continue to expand the ministry he started."
Way to Pray: Please pray for the entire Mung family as they continue to minister in a politically volatile country. David and his family remain committed to the sharing and teaching of the Gospel in the midst of instability. Please pray for them as they care for those around them while dealing with fuel shortages, power outages, and more. Please also pray as their country has been devastated by the recent earthquakes. They are fine, but many people have lost their lives and homes because of the earthquake.
OPPORTUNITY: MISSIONARY WISHLIST
Our missionaries in Alaska with Cadence International, Ben and Simi Hallford, have sent out an Amazon Wishlist for a baby shower they are hosting for multiple women in the group they serve! If you'd like to contribute, you can check out the wishlist here. You can also check out their recent newsletter here to learn a bit more about the groups they're serving and all that they have planned this month!
MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES
- Jordan and Erin Maney (Utah) have had ample opportunity to minister to someone Erin has worked with coming out of the LDS Church. Jordan believes that this person has either just recently started following Jesus, or is really close to that point. Please pray for him in his faith walk.
- Please continue to pray for Scott McCracken and his family as they grieve the death of Vicki following complications after a recent heart surgery. Here's an update Scott recently sent out.
- Please pray for the country of Syria right now as minority groups are facing the fear of genocide and extinction! May God’s mercy, justice, and peace prevail in Syria. Please also pray for our partner, Ananias House, as they seek to serve Syrians.
- Please pray for several missionaries who are or will be traveling in the upcoming months because of furlough!
- Iglesia Alumbra, a partner church in Barranquilla, Colombia, asks us to help them pray for a larger place to worship. Please also pray for partners in Domzale, Slovenia and Potsdam, Germany as they are also feeling the limitations of space! Please also join in praying for these partner churches as they prepare for Easter services this month!
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: WORLD RELIEF
World Relief works to mobilize the local church and community to serve and resettle refugees in the Greenville and Spartanburg areas. WR is currently in need of volunteers to help with transportation needs. People who help with this need will meet individuals from many countries and be the face of welcome as they provide transportation to various appointments such as initial doctor visits, school, DMV, ESL class or the grocery store. Contact Jully Pettyjohn (JPettyjohn@wr.org) for more information.
