PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

  • Please pray for the Mung family in Myanmar. Our missionary, Dr. Mung passed away due to complications from COVID. Pray for comfort for their family and for their country as they continue to face rising COVID numbers as well as the military coup.
  • April Emery, one of our missionary wives, recently lost her father. Please pray for April and the Emery family.
  • Sharon Jackson had surgery on July 7 for breast cancer. Please pray for her healing.
  • Scott would like prayers for his troubled marriage.
  • Wendy VanNorman suddenly lost her husband at 56 and could really use prayers.
  • Rebecca Garcia is asking for healing in her spine and feet. She went from walking 5 miles a day to not being able to stand.
  • Amanda Hightower would like prayers for strength and peace as her mother is in the end stage of Alzheimer's.
  • Elvira Contreras is asking for healing from Covid-19 for her brother and nephew.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: Qatar

"Qatar had built a reputation for economic development and participation in the world economy, but most Arab countries severed diplomatic relations with the country in 2017, accusing it of supporting terrorist groups. The few Qatari believers living inside the country must use extreme caution when gathering for worship, while Christians who are not citizens must worship in a government-controlled compound that is off-limits to Qatari citizens. About 65 percent of the country’s population is composed of foreign workers — mostly Filipinos, Indians and Lebanese — including many who are Christians. Foreign Christians in Qatar have been deported for evangelistic activities among native Qataris." Via: Voice of the Martyrs

Way to Pray: Pray that Qataris respond to the gospel as it is proclaimed through internet and broadcast outreaches. Please also pray for believers who are being persecuted for their faith.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: Fletcher

Joel and Lauren married in 2014 knowing that God was calling them into overseas work. Over their married journey, God has graciously been the steering winds in the sails, highlighting items He wanted them to be involved in. Joel fell into an agricultural role at a small Christian college. He discovered that agriculture is the culmination of his desire to grow men and use teachable moments well, and paired with the drive to work outside with his hands. The Lord highlighted a love and gift for languages and culture in Lauren, and she has been pursuing her master's degree in Applied Linguistics for use in Translation work.

The Fletchers are on the field in Southeast Asia to work with an unreached Muslim group. There, through farming and language, they are making disciples and sharing the abundant life that God gives.

Way to Pray: Please pray for Joel and Lauren as they settle into the region they will be working in. They are currently seeking the right housing for them and their ministry purposes. Pray for discernment in this process. Pray as they continue to adjust to their team and the community they are in. Especially pray for their team as they deal with a land conflict and discern how best to handle the situation. Finally, please pray for the health of both of them. They are both facing different food allergies, especially Lauren. Please pray that God will give them the sustenance they need and if it's God's will, His healing.
