PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

  • Please pray for the leadership of Fellowship Greenville!
  • Frank and Anne Fuller's son passed away in a plane accident. Josh Fuller was a 44 Navy Commander in Florida. Please be in prayer for this family!
  • Karen Thompson has requested prayer for her cousin, Jordan Hussey. Jordan has been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. Please pray for physical strength during chemo and healing for her body.
  • Please be in continued prayer for Kristen Mixson. Overall she is recovering well. Just continued prayer for her recovery as she works to regain her strength and mobility. Prayers for her and Jordan's marriage. Jordan is going to be making as many trips as possible to visit her in Charleston over the next month/month and a half but this is challenging as they are in their first year of marriage.
  • Please continue to pray for Austin Somerville. He is making amazing strides at the Shepherd Rehab Center in Atlanta. He and Kasie (his mother) continue to witness to those around them and bring people to the Lord!
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: Lebanon & Syria

Lebanon was once a prosperous nation but is now tethering closer and closer to the brink of financial collapse. Corruption has infiltrated government and business there.

Last fall, protests started to pick up in the streets causing road closures and some occasional violence. Eventually, COVID-19 hit and has caused millions to be stuck at home. As restrictions have been lifted, many find themselves in a tough spot. Thousands have lost jobs, the currency does not have its previous buying power, and many are desperate for basic needs. For the Syrian refugees in Lebanon, things are even more difficult.

In Syria, due to recent US sanctions leveled on the country, what little aid had been trickling into the county will likely be lost.

Please pray that the physical needs of the people will be met. Pray for the churches and communities of Believers in these countries to serve those around them well and share generously. Pray for God to move in this situation and for many people to be introduced to Him.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: Gfeller

In the summer of 2017, Chad and Cherry Gfeller transitioned to Berlin, Germany to begin work with refugees. Their vision for ministry is to shine the light of the gospel to the men, women, and children of Germany's great city of refuge and their ministry focuses on using the avenue of sports to reach Syrian refugees in the city.

With the rise of the refugee crisis in Europe, God moved the Gfellers to answer a call to work with Berlin Ministries International to coordinate outreach to refugee communities. The Gfellers use weekly sports ministry to help local churches bridge into these communities with the goal of starting Bible studies and connecting new believers with existing or new fellowships. They are working on developing an effective model that can be shared with churches around Europe to help them engage their communities with the gospel in a culturally relevant way. The Gfellers have two daughters, Quinn and Gracie.

Way to Pray: Pray for wisdom as we seek to encourage a culture of discipleship with churches in Berlin and motivate believers to live missional lives. Pray for wisdom as we plan a strategy to reach into new communities by using soccer as a bridge with young families.
