GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: Covid-19

As we continue to navigate Covid-19 as a community, let's remember to pray for all those affected worldwide. Here are a few different groups we can be praying for this week in particular!

  • Pray for our missionaries who are striving to continue doing the ministries God has called them to, but with restrictions in place. Pray that God gives them fresh and creative ideas!
  • Pray for our partners who are serving vulnerable people in their communities right now, while also worrying about monthly funding potentially dropping.
  • Pray for those around the world who have tested positive for Covid-19. Pray that the number of those testing positive will decrease.
  • Pray that the doctors and nurses caring for Covid-19 patients will have all of the necessary equipment and protection to care for them to the best of their ability.
  • Pray for all those researching a vaccine for the virus. Pray that they find answers soon.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: Coppins

Jeff Coppins is the Southeast Regional Director of Development with Back2Back Ministries (B2B) and currently lives in Greenville, South Carolina. Jeff's personal involvement with orphans and vulnerable children began in 2005 when he and his wife Ashley adopted their first child, Haley. Since then, they have adopted three more children: Aidyn, Tyler, and Henry. Jeff and Ashley also started FG's orphan care ministry, Hope for Children.

Jeff's relationship with B2B started in October of 2013 when he went to Monterrey, Mexico on a scouting trip to see if B2B would be a good ministry partner for members of Fellowship Greenville to serve alongside. Needless to say, the scouting trip was a success. Over these past few years, he has been blessed to visit Monterrey multiple times as well as other B2B sites. Following these visits, meetings with key B2B staff, and time in prayer with wise counsel of friends and family, Jeff accepted the role of Southeast Regional Director of Development with B2B Ministries. Jeff plays a key role in raising funds for B2B as well as connecting churches and individuals to B2B.

Way to Pray: The Coppins youngest, Henry, was diagnosed with autism within the last year. They are currently looking for a new aid for Henry. Please also pray for Jeff and Ashley as they continue to help their kids with school. Pray they finish the school year out well.  The Coppins praise God that Ashley has been able to keep her job and also remain healthy. Finally, please pray for Jeff as he works to raise the funds to fill a funding deficit...these funds are necessary for Back2Back to continue to do ministry well.

OPPORTUNITY: to Support

Since the pandemic began affecting us here in the upstate, many of our local partners have continued to find innovative ways to serve our community and their clients. However, many of these partnering organizations have suffered from a dip in funding. One of those organizations is Switch.

Switch serves to end human trafficking and sexual exploitation in the upstate. They serve a group of women coming from a hard background and show them the love of God. If you would like to give to them so that they can continue to support these women and the Switch staff, check out their website!

MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES
