"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

  • Please pray for Mark Kemble and his family. Mark's father, Richard Kemble, passed away on Monday, March 23rd. Praising God that Richard is a believer in Jesus.
  • Please pray for Althea Knowles who has an eye procedure this week. Pray for a successful procedure and peace.
  • Pray for Kathy Firme who has surgery scheduled on March 31st. Pray for peace, healing, and strength during this time.
  • Please pray for healing and strength for Janine Slocum. After four years of being in remission, her cancer has returned, and chemotherapy began earlier this month.

As we continue to navigate Covid-19 as a community, let's remember to pray for all those affected worldwide. Here are a few different groups we can be praying for!

  • Pray for leadership (of churches, our country, other countries, businesses/non-profits, etc) as they make difficult decisions that have wide-reaching impact.
  • Pray for health-care workers, government workers, grocery store employees, and others who have to continue to work in sometimes dangerous environments. Pray for peace, endurance, and joy even in the midst of this!
  • Pray for the vulnerable--immuno-compromised and the elderly that this virus is more dangerous for.
  • Pray for countries who have been impacted by Covid-19 where access to good healthcare is limited.
  • Pray for missionaries all around the world who are continuing their day-to-day ministries and are now caring for those around them who have been impacted by this virus. Pray that the Lord gives them creative new ideas, the capacity to stretch themselves, peace, and continued joy in ministry.
  • Pray that the spread of this virus will plateau, decrease, and then stop.

Ed and Sylvia Christy have been working to plant churches in the Bordeaux region of France since 1990 with Baptist Mid-Missions. They have found many opportunities as well as faced great challenges in establishing a strong community of Christ-followers. Their first church plant now has its own French pastor and building. Currently, the Christys are launching a new church in St. Medard-en-Jalles. Ed and Sylvia have two grown children: Grant and Jana.

Way to Pray: Please pray for us as we try to get figure out the best way to continue ministering to our people at this time. Pray for our complete healing as we have both been sick recently. Please pray for our son-in-law that just came back from South Africa. The doctor believes that he has coronavirus.  Finally, please pray for our daughter who is expecting again.

Please pray for all of our local partners. Many of them are continuing to serve their clients with limitations in place such as reduced volunteers and reduced funding. Pray for the leaders of these organizations to gain wisdom, ingenuity, and to maintain a positive spirit as they continue to serve our community so well. If you would like to give an extra financial gift to any of our partners, please find them listed on our website

  • Please pray for the Vargas as they navigate this new normal! Vica is continuing her own schooling while homeschooling her children due to schools being closed. Please pray for Istvan as he moves church services and different Bible studies and other groups onto an online format.
  • The Fletchers--Southeast Asia--are in the process of applying for a 2-year visa. Please pray that this process will be straightforward and accomplished quickly. Please also pray for wisdom as their schedule has changed some.
  • The Foths are adjusting to their new life and ministry in Sydney, Australia, while also dealing with the effects of Covid-19. Please pray for them as they come up with new ways to stay healthy yet connected with those they're ministering to! This week they will be hosting "Family Dinner" online with some students!

Harvest Hope is very busy in the emergency food pantry, and expect to continue to be as we all live out this health crisis. They are looking for volunteers to help with their ‘drive-thru’ limited pantry service through the rest of the month. More information and access to sign up can be found on their website

If you are healthy and have the availability to serve, this will be a great opportunity to love others by providing food for those who may not be able to get to the grocery store and stock up.
