PRAYER REQUESTS

Ron Jordan recently found out that his melanoma has returned. Please pray for him and his family during this difficult time.

Please pray for struggling marriages.

GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: Algeria
"In Algeria only 1% of the population are born again Believers, and these believers are often persecuted for their faith. Under a controversial law that forbids 'undermining the faith of a Muslim,' a pastor was fined over $800 last year for possessing Bibles. Since November 2017, eight Protestant churches have been closed by the government for failure to have the proper registration. One of these churches had applied for registration in 2013, but the government refused to process their application and has now threatened to demolish the church building. Furthermore, Christians have been arrested for sharing the Gospel of Jesus with Muslims. (via frontlinemissions.info)." Source: Frontline Missions

Way to Pray: Pray for God’s grace for these believers as they seek to be faithful to Christ while facing persecution from the government and also their families.
MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: Gonzalez

A native Colombian, Bernardo Gonzalez pastored a Colombian church and worked with several missionary organizations for over 13 years while working a secular job for 10 of those years to support his family. In 2011, Bernardo stepped into the role of Colombia National Director with e3 Partners. In this role, Bernardo now devotes all of his energy to reaching Colombians for Christ by coordinating the efforts of different Christian associations and churches to accomplish this goal. His vision is to help grow a passion for church planting in the local church. He and his wife, Mildred, have been married almost 15 years and have two daughters, Emily and Mariana.

Way to Pray: Continue praying for Bernardo and Mildred as they learn the best way to handle the diagnosis of low-level autism for their daughter, Emily. Pray for Bernardo and his team as they have a group serving in Cali this week (including three participants from FG).

OPPORTUNITY: to Pray

This week we have three teams out of the country! Please continue to keep these teams in your prayers as they serve others around the world!

The Monterrey, Mexico team will be out of the country from June 14-20. This team is comprised of families that are serving orphaned and vulnerable children in partnership with Back2Back.

The Dominican Republic team will be in La Vega from June 14-22. This team of juniors and seniors in our youth group will be serving the community of La Vega, Dominican Republic through VBS, sports camps, and more in partnership with TEARS ministry. For many on the team, this is their first experience into global missions.

Finally, the Cali team will be serving in Colombia from June 15-22. They will be evangelizing, discipling, and church planting in partnership with E3 Partners.

MISSIONARY AND PARTNER UPDATES
  • Scott and Vicki McCracken have the privilege of teaching a 6-hour seminar on parenting to a group of women from a local residential treatment center in Portland.
  • Please pray for the Shepperson family as they are traveling around the US this summer visiting family and friends and helping daughter, Gwyneth, prepare for college this fall.
  • Pray for Joy Anglea as she and her team try to discern God's direction for their next medical mission trip.
