"One Chinese city is now offering to pay for information on anyone involved in 'illegal religious activities.' Authorities in Guangzhou have offered rewards equaling as much as $1,500 to those reporting the activities. The largest rewards are paid for information leading to the arrest of foreign religious leaders, while smaller amounts will be paid for tips leading to the closure of a foreign religious group. Way to Pray: Pray for Christians in Guangzhou as the government continues its crackdown on religious institutions that do not submit to the Communist Party.
Nathan and Rene Foth have been on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) for more than 15 years and have served on college campuses in East Asia, Sweden, Argentina, and Dominican Republic. They have also served on short-term trips in Central Asia and South Asia. Currently, the Foths serve in Charlotte with Bridges International, an international student ministry on the campus of UNC-Charlotte. They have three daughters: Anabelle, Elianna, and Lillian, whom they consider their secret weapons in welcoming and building relationships with international students from China, India and the Middle East.
Way to Pray: Pray for the Foths as they continue to find ways to serve the international student population at UNC Charlotte these next several months. Recently, God has opened a door for them to continue with Cru in Australia. Please pray for them as they begin raising funds for this and finish out ministry here in the states.
Please pray for our team of college and young adults in Pereira, Colombia this week. They will work alongside national pastors and Colombian believers to share the gospel there. They'll also help start a new church where they're invited to their life stories and the gospel through translators. They return home on May 25th.
Miracle Hill in Motion is the ministry's annual fundraising event, scheduled for June 1. Miracle Hill needs volunteers for this event! If you're interested in learning more, check out the event volunteer page on their website.
