One of our core values is "loving others," and we do that in many ways—one of which is through serving with no expectation of return. Easter is one of those great times to invest in others while putting the love of Jesus on display. If you attend Fellowship regularly, we ask that you prayerfully consider investing in Easter by serving or inviting others to join us for our weekend services and by faithfully praying that God will move in the hearts of those who might join us.
Here are three reasons to INVEST by serving during Easter:
1. Easter weekend will be packed out!
For the sake of the holiday, even the most dysfunctional family members will want to gather together at church to celebrate the resurrection. Research shows that most people are more receptive to going to church at Easter and Christmas than at any other time of the year. Serving one of the many families that walk through our doors could be a huge difference-maker.
2. Several new families in the Upstate will attend or be curious about attending church.
The Upstate continues to grow, introducing new domestic and international businesses and residents. Because there are many churches in the area, several newcomers are entertaining the idea of looking to get plugged in within a local church community. Their curiosity could lead them through our doors and give us a chance to love and serve them while potentially giving them a new church to call home.
3. Many people are in desperate need of good news.
We're broken people. That's not always easy news to process. Challenging circumstances, loss, depression, and illness can lead to seasons of doubt in so many lives. Everyone is carrying some kind of burden, and Easter is the perfect time to introduce people to the ultimate "burden lifter" while filling their hearts with the good news of the Gospel.
Whether someone comes to church out of curiosity, a willingness to try something new or desperation for a Savior, your decision to serve could lead to someone trusting in Jesus! How might God use you this Easter to share his redemptive message?
