PRAYER REQUESTS

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14

  • Rose Hazen and her husband, Dale, have seen answers to prayers as she is showing improvement and walking with a walker. Continued prayers are appreciated!
  • Josh Matson has strayed from God and is working his way back to Christ.
  • Steve Murray would like prayers for his new job and making it possible to stand since he has bad knees.
  • Keith would like his relationship with Tracey restored.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: Cote d'Ivoire

"Followers of local animist traditions in the village of Grahipla (Cote d'Ivoire) had planned an initiation ceremony on July 31, 2022, and told Christians not to worship that day. Local Christians decided the threat would not stop them. But on that day, animist initiates attacked five churches, three of which were holding services. The attackers looted buildings, destroyed three, and humiliated Christian men, women and children by stripping off their clothes and beating them. Many of the Christian men now struggle to take care of their farms because of their injuries, and the police have yet to take any action." (Via: Voice of the Martyrs)

Way to Pray: Front-line workers ask for prayer that the brothers and sisters will fully recover, mentally and physically, from the attacks, and for God’s provision as they work to rebuild their churches.

MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: FLETCHER

Joel and Lauren married in 2014 knowing that God was calling them into overseas work. Over their married journey, God has graciously been the steering winds in the sails, highlighting items He wanted them to be involved in. Joel fell into an agricultural role at a small Christian college. He discovered that agriculture is the culmination of his desire to grow men and use teachable moments well, and paired with the drive to work outside with his hands. The Lord highlighted a love and gift for languages and culture in Lauren, and she has been pursuing her masters degree in Applied Linguistics for use in Translation work.

The Fletchers are on the field in Southeast Asia to work with an unreached Muslim group. There, through farming and language, they are making disciples and sharing the abundant life that God gives. Way to

Pray: Please pray for Joel and Lauren as they continue to settle into the region they are working in. They have been encouraged by the relationship-building that is happening through their agricultural training. They have had several new opportunities arise and are excited to see how God uses these opportunities to continue to build relationships. Please also pray for Joel's mother who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

OPPORTUNITY: MISSIONARY MEET & GREET--DEVANEY

Kaylyn DeVaney has loved sports, specifically softball, for as long as she can remember. Growing up she loved the experiences she was able to have with the sport. During her college years, she loved the opportunity to use softball as a platform to bring people together from all different backgrounds to enjoy this great sport. Through several trips to the Middle East, she had the opportunity to see softball redeemed in her own life, while also building relationships and breaking down language barriers in a way that provided opportunities to share the Gospel.

Kaylyn is currently serving with Athletes in Action as their Softball Director, where she has been tasked with launching a softball ministry: locally (in Xenia, OH), nationally, and internationally. AIA Softball gives me the opportunity to bridge her passion for leadership, softball, freedom in Christ, and worship into one sphere of introducing athletes and coaches to Christ while empowering them to make disciples through their sport.

On Sunday, December 18, Kaylyn will be in the commons area for a Meet & Greet! Be sure to stop by and hear about her first year in ministry.
